Product Description
Karotimam Innovations Pvt Ltd is a pioneering startup in sustainable electronics, offering a patented biodegradable substrate platform for flexible printed electronics. Our flagship product, Flexzil, is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional non-degradable materials like PET, FR4, and Kapton, used in electronic manufacturing. Flexzil supports a wide range of applications, including printed RFID tags (chipless and standard), capacitive touch sensors, strain and pressure sensors, flexible printed heaters, and wearable biosensors for healthcare diagnostics.
Engineered from processed disposable bioplastics using a proprietary technology, Flexzil offers high surface energy for ink adhesion, superior flexibility, resistance to plastic deformation, and porosity. It is fully compatible with standard printing techniques like inkjet, screen, aerosol, and 3D printing, with no need for pre- or post-curing — streamlining the electronics manufacturing workflow.
Karotimam’s biodegradable electronics solution is ideal for low-power, single-use, or disposable electronic components, targeting key industries such as IoT, healthcare, and smart packaging. Our technology aligns with the goals of the circular economy, promoting e-waste reduction and sustainable innovation in the field of green electronics. By integrating environmental responsibility with advanced performance, Karotimam Innovations is shaping the future of eco-friendly electronics.
Problem Addressed
The global electronics industry is heavily reliant on non-degradable materials such as PET, FR4, and polyimide (Kapton) for flexible electronic components, contributing significantly to the growing e-waste crisis. These conventional substrates are not biodegradable, leading to long-term environmental pollution, high recycling costs, and toxic waste generation. Moreover, the production of such materials involves energy-intensive processes and harmful chemicals, adding to the carbon footprint.
Despite the rise of flexible electronics in sectors like healthcare, supply chain (RFID), wearables, and IoT, there is a lack of sustainable, biodegradable alternatives that can seamlessly integrate with existing printing technologies (inkjet, screen, aerosol, etc.).
This creates a critical gap between innovation and sustainability in printed electronics—where the need for eco-friendly substrates remains largely unmet.
Karotimam addresses this challenge through the development of biodegradable, printable substrates compatible with flexible electronics, reducing both material waste and environmental impact while offering cost-effective, scalable solutions for next-generation electronic devices.
Product Application
Karotimam’s biodegradable substrate platform and printed electronic components are designed for a wide range of applications across multiple sectors, enabling sustainable innovation without compromising on performance. Key Application Areas: Supply Chain and Logistics RFID Tags (including chipless RFID) for asset tracking, inventory management, and anti-counterfeiting Smart packaging solutions with embedded sensors for real-time monitoring of goods Healthcare and Medtech Wearable biosensors for non-invasive health monitoring (e.g., sweat-based analyte detection, urine biomarkers) Capacitive touch sensors for medical device interfaces Printed heaters for therapeutic warming applications in medical devices Smart Textiles and Wearables Strain sensors for human motion monitoring (sports, rehabilitation, ergonomics) Printed electronics integrated into garments or accessories for interactive or responsive functionalities Automotive and Industrial IoT Lightweight, flexible printed sensors for environmental monitoring, pressure sensing, and temperature control Embedded electronics for in-vehicle diagnostics and predictive maintenance Sustainable Electronics and Green Packaging Single-use flexible circuits for low-cost, disposable electronics Biodegradable smart labels for consumer electronics packaging
